    André I. Reis received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from UFRGS, Brazil, in 1991, the M.S. degree in Computer Science from UFRGS, Brazil, in 1993, and the PhD degree in Automatic and Microelectronics Systems from UMII, France, in 1998. He is a professor in the Computer Science Department of UFRGS since 2000. He was a visiting researcher at University of Minnesota, USA, for the year 2004-2005. He has worked as a Chief Scientist for Nangate A/S, Denmark, from July 2006 to February 2009. He is a member of technical advisory board of Nangate since 2005. He has successfully coordinated UFRGS participation in the Synaptic FP7 European project consortium. Furthermore, he is a thesis advisor for the MS and PhD programs in Computer Science, as well as co-founder and thesis advisor for the master and PhD program in microelectronics at UFRGS. He has 10 granted US patents, and more than 150 academic publications. He has co-authored books on digital circuit design. He received best paper awards at the IFIP VLSI´97 and SBCCI’13 conferences. He is a member of Brazilian Microelectronics Society (SBMICRO), Brazilian Computer Society (SBC), ACM and a senior member of the IEEE. He is serving as the general chair for the 24th International Workshop on Logic and Synthesis (IWLS).

    Renato P. Ribas received B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering respectively from UFRGS, in 1991, and Unicamp, in 1994, Brazil, and Doctor degree in microelectronics from INPG, France, in 1998. Professor at Informatics Institute, UFRGS, since 2000. Post-Doctoral sabbatical year at UBC, Canada, in 2010/2011, and Chief Scientist at Nangate A/S, Denmark, in 2005/2006. He was president of the Brazilian Microelectronics Society and coordinator of the computer engineering course at UFRGS. His research interest includes VLSI system and circuit design, CAD development and new technologies for digital IC design.

    Mayler Gama Alvarenga Martins received the B.S degree in Computer Engineering in 2009 from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), Vitória, Brazil, and M.S. degree in Microelectronics in 2012, from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Porto Alegre, Brazil. Currently, he is pursuing the Doctor Degree in Microelectronics from UFRGS. The expected graduation date is in September 2015. His advisor and co-advisor are Prof. André I. Reis  and Prof. Renato P. Ribas, respectively.  His research interests include logic synthesis algorithms, as factoring, decomposition and technology mapping, and emerging technologies, including majority and threshold logic, spintronics, memristors and FinFETs.

    Vinicius Callegaro received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 2010 and 2012, respectively. He is currently pursuing the Doctor degree in computer science at the same university. His research interests include logic synthesis methods for CMOS and emerging technologies as well as automatic generation of standard cell libraries. Mr. Callegaro received a best paper award at SBCCI’13 conference.

    Jody Maick Matos graduated in Computer Engineering at UEFS, Brazil, and received his M.Sc. in Microelectronics from UFRGS, Brazil. Since 2014, he has been a PhD student at Computer Science graduate program, from UFRGS. His academic background focuses on Digital Systems and Conception of Integrated Circuits, applying concepts of Software Engineering and Development. Currently, he is working on EDA software research and development. Jody is also extending his contributions on the field of EDA by developing software to bring logic synthesis and physical design together.

    Augusto Neutzling received the B.S. degree in computer engineering from FURG, in 2012, and the M.S. degree in computer science from UFRGS, in 2014, and received his MBA in project management at the FGV, in 2014. He is currently pursuing PhD degree in computer science at UFRGS. He was trainee in AMS and digital integrated circuit design at IC Brazil program, working on designs of A/D and D/A converters and digital library cells. His research interests include VLSI system and circuit design, EDA, logic synthesis for CMOS and emerging technologies, threshold logic and library cell design.

    Vinicius N. Possani received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in computer science from the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPEL), Pelotas, Brazil in 2013 and 2015, respectively. Currently, he is pursuing the Ph.D. degree in computer science from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Porto Alegre, Brazil. His research interests include logic synthesis, automatic generation and optimization of transistor (switch) networks, including new devices as double-gate FinFETs. He also has interest in design algorithms for electronic design automation and technology mapping.
