Coordination and Task Allocation in Real-World Scenarios
This group now works for the research project "Coordination and Task Allocation in Disaster Scenarios Using
Swarm Intelligence and Multiagent Techniques" partially supported by Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFORS) (grant number FA9550-06-1-0517).
The main goal of this research project is to study and develop an approximate algorithm for the
GAP (General Assignment Problem) based on the theoretical models of division of labor in colonies
of social insects. To achieve this objective we will use the scenario of RoboCup Rescue to test
the algorithm we call Swarm-GAP. This algorithm intends to be simple and effective to solve large
scale instances of the GAP, with the allocation being achieved in a distributed fashion.
