Agents and Multiagent Systems is one of the most attractive research areas in Artificial Intelligence at this moment. Research on DAI and MAS dates back to the 1980s but recently there has been a boom in interest and deployment of agent-based systems.

To help to disseminate the knowledge about this field and to stimulate students to look into it, the IFMAS, AA, and ATAL sponsor Agents School in several countries. Recent editions were in China and India.

We are pleased to host this edition in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Spring is a wonderful time here and we are sure that everyone will enjoy the technical program by top researchers in the area, as well as the unforgettable sunsets and jacarandá blossom.
