Prof. Ricardo Reis (center) was recognized for his trajectory of research in the area of Computing and Conception of Integrated Circuits.

To the Institute of Informatics at UFRGS (INF), sharing achievements is very rewarding. Thus, it is with much honor that the Institute announces that Prof. Ricardo Reis is the newest holder of the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Montpellier. The ceremony was chaired by the Dean of the French institution, Prof. Philippe Augé, on December 9th 2016.

This is the first time that the University of Montpellier, founded in 1289, grants this title to a professor/researcher in the field of Conception of Integrated Circuits.

According to Prof. Reis, “this exceptional title is, before anything else, due to work done together with researchers from the University of Montpellier, and I must share it with all my students, who were essential elements to the development of the research at UFRGS and in collaboration with other universities”.

Congratulations, Prof. Ricardo Reis!
