Research Groups | Bioinformatics

The Bioinformatics group works in the following research lines: Computational Biology, aiming at the development of computational techniques to solve complex biological problems; Statistical methods, which includes the study of modeling techniques for stochastic and probabilistic systems and their application in Bioinformatics problems; Genomics, aiming to help the activities of genome identification and analysis projects, recover and integrate information from heterogeneous databases; Applications of Artificial Intelligence techniques such as classification and grouping of genome and proteome data; Structural Bioinformatics aiming at the development of computational methods and strategies to predict the three-dimensional structure of polypeptides and molecular docking; Massively parallel programming for Bioinformatics; and bioinspired computing.
