Brazil waives visas for visitors from U.S., Canada, Australia, Japan

Starting June 17, 2019 Brazil will now allow visitors from Canada, Australia, Japan and the United States to enter the country Visa-Free. Please confirm details at the official site!

The new laws allow for citizens of these countries to enter Brazil for up to 90 days without a visa. The visa then can be extended once for an additional 90 days provided it does not exceed 180 days in a 12 month period.

“This is one of the most important achievements of the Brazilian tourism industry in the last 15 years and we are confident that it will be extremely beneficial to the country.

This decision of the Brazilian government proves that we are living a new moment and that tourism is being seen as a vector of economic and social growth of the entire nation. This is the first step; we still have much to celebrate.”

Marcelo Alvaro Antônio, Minister of Tourism
