Gala Dinner of ER-2019 will be at ‘Convento do Carmo’

The ER-2019 Conference Dinner will be on November 6th at 8pm at ‘Convento do Carmo’ Tonico Restaurant. It was in this space in the heart of Salvador’s historic centre that a piece of Brazil’s history was portrayed and where now the signature of the Brazilian Chef Dudu Prado takes us on a sensory journey through the finest Brazilian gastronomy. The menu, specially created for the ER 2019 participants, includes vegetarian options and will allow us to taste the multiple flavors of Bahia cuisine. Brazilian drinks and the finest Brazilian music will compose this unforgettable evening.

The Convento do Carmo was founded in 1592 and is one of the largest and oldest convents in Brazil. Its impressive XVI baroque architecture, historic furniture and collection of art, compose an exquisite atmosphere. Attached to it is the historical church “Igreja da Ordem Terceira do Carmo”. The original church, founded in 1636, burned to the ground; the present neoclassical building dates from 1828. The nave has a French organ and a baroque altar with a  statue of Nossa Senhora do Carmo (Our Lady of Mount Carmel).
