About ONTOBRAS 2025<\/h2>\n

Ontology is an interdisciplinary field that studies concepts and theories that provide the foundation for the construction of shared conceptualizations of specific domains. In recent years, we have seen a growing interest in the application of ontologies to solve modeling and classification problems in various areas such as: Computer Science, Information Science, Philosophy, Artificial Intelligence, Linguistics, Knowledge Management, Biomedicine, Semantic Web, among others.<\/p>\n

The Seminar on Ontology Research in Brazil<\/strong> (ONTOBRAS) envisions an opportunity and provides a scientific environment where researchers and professionals from the aforementioned fields can exchange knowledge about theories, methodologies, languages, tools, and experiences related to the theoretical foundation, development, and application of ontologies.<\/p>\n

In its 18th edition, ONTOBRAS 2025 is part of a tradition that has existed since 2005 in Brazil and was defined by the Brazilian Ontology Community as the unique, scientifically qualified forum for presenting and discussing ontologies and application cases in Brazil.<\/p>\n

This edition of Ontobras will have the theme “The Influence of Ontologies in Generative AI.” It is a current topic of great general interest, both in academia and the productive sector. In this sense, recent studies have shown how ontologies and knowledge graphs have contributed to improving the quality of responses from generative AI. This theme will also serve to further bring academia and the productive sector together to advance research, partnerships, and the development of applications and products.<\/p>\n

ONTOBRAS 2025 will be held in person at the Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Aeron\u00e1utica (ITA) and the Faculdade de Ci\u00eancias M\u00e9dicas Humanitas in S\u00e3o Jos\u00e9 dos Campos, SP.<\/p>\n

The ONTOBRAS series has support from the International Association for Ontology and Applications (<\/span>IAOA<\/span><\/a>), a non-profit organization with the purpose of promoting interdisciplinary research and international collaboration at the intersection of philosophical ontology, linguistics, logic, cognitive science, and computer science. The IAOA also provides forums for the development of applications of ontological analysis to conceptual modeling, knowledge engineering, knowledge management, information-systems development, library and information science, scientific research, and semantic technologies in general.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

ONTOBRAS proceedings are published under the IAOA Series at CEUR-WS.org , and the Brazilian seminar is part of the IAOA events calendar.<\/p>\n
