Works aligned with the scope of the event will be considered, even if they do not fall explicitly under the topics mentioned above.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Submission Guidelines<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The following types of papers are accepted (page limits exclude references):<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Full papers (up to 12 pages):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Papers presenting consolidated contributions to ontology research. These can be theoretical, technical, and\/or practical papers, directly or indirectly related to the event&#8217;s areas of interest. Papers from students whose dissertations or theses are in the final stages and already present substantial results are also encouraged.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Short papers (up to 6 pages):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Papers presenting partial results of ongoing research or proposing new ideas and research horizons (position\/vision papers).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Upon submission, authors must indicate the type of paper being submitted. Additionally, it is suggested to indicate the intended paper type in a footnote on the first page.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submissions may be written in <\/span><b>English (preferably)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Portuguese<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, or <\/span><b>Spanish<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. We strongly recommend submissions in English with the aim of broadening the international reach of the submitted works. Articles must be original and cannot be under simultaneous evaluation in another journal, conference, or scientific event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submissions written in <\/span><b>Portuguese<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><b>Spanish<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> must include an <\/span><b>abstract and keywords in English<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> within the body of the article. In such cases, authors must provide the title in English exclusively in the submission form (between parentheses, after the title in the original language) and should not include it in the article file.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All submissions must be in Adobe PDF format and follow the <\/span><b>CEUR-ART single-column template<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Templates for Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, and LaTeX can be downloaded at:<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inf.ufrgs.br\/ontobras\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/CEUR-Template-1col_ONTOBRAS_2026.zip\">https:\/\/www.inf.ufrgs.br\/ontobras\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/CEUR-Template-1col_ONTOBRAS_2026.zip<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Review Process<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ONTOBRAS adopts a <\/span><b>double-blind review<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> system. Therefore, submissions must not include any information that allows the identification of their authors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each submitted article will be evaluated by <\/span><b>at least three members of the Program Committee<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. All evaluations will be conducted <\/span><b>anonymously<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, in accordance with the double-blind review policy. No single institution shall contribute more than 25% of Program Committee members.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the three initial reviews are issued, a <\/span><b>discussion period among the reviewers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will be opened. The goal is to analyze potential differences in judgment, clarify distinct interpretations, and achieve greater consistency in evaluating the work. This stage is conducted internally within the Program Committee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Program Committee Chairs will make the final decision on the acceptance of the submitted articles, based on the reviews and the discussion among reviewers. In addition to acceptance or rejection, if the Committee finds that the work has merit but is better suited to another presentation format, it may decide on:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accepting a <\/span><b>full paper<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as a <\/span><b>short paper<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accepting a <\/span><b>full<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><b>short paper<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as a <\/span><b>poster<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Authors must observe the following guidelines to ensure anonymity:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Identification:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Submissions must not include names, affiliations, acknowledgments, or funding information in the article file.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Self-Citation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Citations to the authors&#8217; own work must be made in the third person (e.g., \u201cin the work of Silva et al.\u201d instead of \u201cin our work\u201d).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Previous Work:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> If the article is an evolution of the authors&#8217; previous work, the reference may be anonymized in the reference list (e.g., \u201c[ref] Reference omitted due to double-blind review\u201d).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Contextual Clues:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Avoid explicit mention of universities, projects, or groups that may allow authorship to be inferred.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Artifacts:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Links to artifacts (repositories, data, code, demonstrations) must be provided anonymously and must not reveal the identity of the authors.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Final Version:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> If the article is accepted, all information omitted in the submitted version must be properly included in the final version. The inclusion of each author&#8217;s <\/span><b>ORCID<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is mandatory.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Best Paper Award<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ONTOBRAS 2026 Program Committee will select a full paper to receive the <\/span><b>Best Paper Award<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Artificial Intelligence Usage Policy<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ONTOBRAS 2026 adopts the <\/span><b>CEUR-WS Policy on AI-Based Support Tools<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All submitted papers <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">must include a section titled <\/span><b>\u201cGenerative AI Declaration,\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> inserted before the \u201cReferences\u201d section, even if only to state that no generative AI tools were used.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Examples of declaration and guidelines on acceptable uses are available at<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/ceur-ws.org\/GenAI\/Policy.html\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/ceur-ws.org\/GenAI\/Policy.html<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>Submission Formatting Requirements<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submitted articles must conform to the following requirements:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Page Limits:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Not exceed 12 pages for <\/span><b>full papers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and 6 pages for <\/span><b>short papers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, excluding references;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Abstract:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Include an abstract with a maximum of 250 words;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Format:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Be in PDF format;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Template:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Be formatted according to the <\/span><b>CEUR-ART (single-column)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> template provided by the event;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Anonymization:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Be properly anonymized, in compliance with the ONTOBRAS double-blind review policy.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Editorial Screening and Desk Rejection<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before being sent for peer review, all submissions will undergo editorial screening. The following will be <\/span><b>automatically rejected without review<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Works outside the scope of ONTOBRAS 2026;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submissions that exceed the page limit;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Works that do not follow the CEUR-ART template;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Articles that are not properly anonymized;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submissions that do not include the mandatory <\/span><b>\u201cGenerative AI Declaration\u201d<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> section.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Publication<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Accepted papers will be published in the <\/span><b>proceedings of ONTOBRAS 2026 at CEUR-WS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as part of the\u00a0 IAOA series.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Publication of accepted papers is conditioned on:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Registration:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The registration of at least one of the authors for ONTOBRAS 2026; and<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Presentation:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The in-person presentation of the paper on <\/span><b>September 23, 2026<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Failure to present the paper will result in its automatic exclusion from the proceedings.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ONTOBRAS 2026 invites the submission of original papers presenting theoretical, methodological, technical, or applied contributions to the field of ontologies and related areas.
