Pre-Symposium 2016 - Call for Contributions

The Pre-Symposium is an annual event organized on the day before the Symposium on Virtual and Augmented Reality (SVR). Its main goal is to provide a set of basic and comprehensive tutorials presented in the form of short lectures related to the main concepts and technologies of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) areas. In this way, it offers to new participants the basic knowledge to improve their experience in the SVR. Therefore, proposals should consider that the participants have only a basic understanding of the topics of the event.

The Pre-Symposium lectures are presented by professors and researchers from the VR and AR community. They are highly recommended for Computing academics, professionals and the general public interested in these areas.

Proposals may be written in either English or Portuguese, and should be submitted using the JEMS submission system. The proposal should be a single text file with the following information: authors (names and affiliations), the tutorial title, abstract, and a brief description of the contents to be presented. Once the proposal has been accepted, a full text containing between 15 and 20 pages must be submitted for final acceptance following the SBC template.

As in previous editions, the chapters presented in the Pre-Symposium will be included in the online journal "Tendências e Técnicas em Realidade Virtual e Aumentada" (ISSN 2177-6776). Subject to the availability of funds, the journal can also be printed and distributed to participants.

Each accepted course must have at least one paid full registration, in order to be included in the journal. At this time there is no provision of financial support to cover the expenses of the authors of selected Pre-Symposium proposals.

Camera-ready Submissions

The final version of your paper must be submitted with the SBC Copyright Form.

The template has the Copyright Form written in english and in portuguese. It is not necessary to sign both. Authors must choose between one of the two no matter the language in which the draft was written.
