P&ID Knowledge Extraction and Graph Enrichment investigates methods for transforming piping and instrumentation diagrams into structured, semantically meaningful knowledge. This area explores the identification of equipment, instruments, tags, and connections from diagram data and documents, together with their mapping to the project’s domain ontologies. Particular attention is given to preserving flow direction, connecting information across diagrams, resolving ambiguous identifiers, and distinguishing physical connectivity from the functional relationships needed to interpret industrial processes. The work also investigates linking query results to the corresponding elements in diagrams, helping users inspect the evidence behind an answer. Within OntoKG, this area supplies and enriches knowledge graphs with engineering information that complements corporate and operational data, supporting the exploration of equipment dependencies and the investigation of incidents with potential impacts on production.
