  • Short bio: I am a CNPq Fellow and a lecturer at the Institute of Informatics, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, and a Visiting Scholar at the Laboratory of Information and Decision Systems of MIT (USA). Prior to that I was a Visiting Lecturer Computer Science Department, University of Bath (2006-2009) and worked as a Senior Researcher in the Department of Language and Linguistics of the University of Essex (2004-2005) and in the Computer Laboratory of the University of Cambridge (2001-2004).

  • Short bio: My current research focuses on lexical acquisition of multiword expressions for natural language processing applications. I am also interested in statistical machine translation, terminology, corpus linguistics, data-driven NLP and natural language learning. I have been working in the field of computational linguistics since 2006: my previous working experiences include internships at the Natural Language Processing Group of the Institute of Informatics at UFRGS, the Cross-Language Technologies group at XRCE and at GETALP - LIG, where I currently hold a Ph.D. position with a research scholarship from the French Ministry of Research and Higher Education.
