Abstract:
This lecture will delve into the transformative potential of Industry 4.0 and the RISC-V architecture. The session will cover RISC-V design techniques, including modular and extensible instruction set architecture, efficient hardware-software co-design, and security features tailored for industrial applications. Additionally, we will briefly discuss the collaboration between Aarfive Designs Pvt Ltd and the University of Calcutta, India, which aims to establish a RISC-V design academy to foster innovation and skilled manpower development in this field.

Professor Amlan Chakrabarti, Director of the School of Information Technology at the University of Calcutta, is renowned for his groundbreaking work in Cyberphysical Systems, design automation, Machine Learning, and RISC design. A Senior Member of IEEE and ACM, he has also served as a Distinguished Speaker for both the IEEE Computer Society and ACM. His pioneering research integrates Machine Learning with Cyberphysical Systems, driving advancements in automation and intelligent system design. Additionally, his contributions to RISC-V design have established him as a key figure in the open-source hardware community, fostering innovation and energy-efficient computing solutions.
