Palestra com Prof. Denis Trystram de Grenoble

Na próxima segunda-feira, dia 12 de agosto, o INF receberá a visita do Prof. Denis Trystram (Universidade de Grenoble), membro do LICIA, que fará a palestra “New Challenges in Scheduling for the Exascale Era”. O evento acontecerá às 14h, no Auditório inferior do prédio 67.

O Prof. Denis faz pesquisa com um enfoque teórico na área de escalonamento de tarefas e otimização do uso de recursos. Em 2011, ele recebeu o “Google Faculty Research Award” por seu trabalho no desenvolvimento de novos algoritmos para uma melhor utilização de recursos distribuídos. Resumo da palestra:

“In this talk, we will first present the main challenges involved by running applications on the future exascale parallel platforms. After recalling some basics in task scheduling, we will study some impacts at the algorithmic level and discuss open directions on how to handle these problems”.
