Prof. from INF receives IEEE award

Prof. Lisandro Zambenedetti Granville is the 2022 recipient of the Salah Aidarous Award

The Salah Aidarous Award, in memory of NOMS 2004 Chair Salah Aidarous, is presented at each IEEE/IFIP International Network Operations and Management Symposium (NOMS) to an individual who has provided unremitting service and dedication to the IT and Telecommunications Network Operations and Management community. The NOMS/IM Steering Committee (NISC) coordinates the nomination and decision processes for the award, selecting individuals for their outstanding contributions to the network, system and service management community. This year’s recipient of the Salah Aidarous Award, announced in Apr. 28th at NOMS 2022 in Budapest, Hungary, is Prof. Lisandro Zambenedetti Granville from the Institute of Informatics of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil.

Prof. Granville has been developing research efforts in network management for more than 20 year. More specifically, his mains research interests include software-defined networking, network functions virtualization, Internet consolidation, network neutrality, traffic monitoring, IA/ML for network management, and cybersecurity.
