Research Groups | Bioinformatics

The Bioinformatics Group operates in the following lines of research: Genomics, aiming to help the activities of projects dealing with analysis of genomes, retrieve and integrate information from heterogeneous databases; Computational Biology, to develop tools (algorithms, software) to solve bioinformatics problems and develop  computational modeling techniques for biological systems, and to investigate the application of paradigms from biology into computer science and computing using DNA; Statistical methods in Bioinformatics, comprising the study of modeling techniques for probabilistic and stochastic systems, and prediction of behavior of complex systems; Application of techniques from Artificial Intelligence and Computational Intelligence such as classification and clustering to genome and proteome; Bioinspired Computing.
