Research Groups | Intelligent Robotics and Artificial Vision

The Intelligent Robotics and Artificial Vision Group of the Institute of Informatics at UFRGS have been working for several years in two main topics (Intelligent Robotics and Artificial Vision), aiming to deepen the theoretical knowledge in the area of Computational Intelligence and to apply them in practical applications in complex real-world problems. Our group focus on the following research lines: Computational Neuroscience, Brain-Computer Interface, Optimization through Evolutionary Computing, Data Mining, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Simultaneous Mapping and Self-localization, Motion Planning, Interval Robotics, Probabilistic Robotics, Distributed Robotics, Humanitarian Robotics Applications, Ontologies for Robotics, Aerial / Underwater / Humanoid / Terrestrial Robotics, Bio-inspired Robotics. The group participates in projects supported by development agencies CNPq, FAPERGS, CAPES.
